Black Excellence Takes Center Stage in Elizabeth City

On February 24, Advance Carolina and NC Black Alliance partnered with iEmpower to celebrate Black excellence with the Black Excellence Sip & Paint event in Elizabeth City. The event provided a vibrant and engaging afternoon and commemorated the outstanding achievements of Black people throughout history.

The event featured a unique twist on the annual Black History Quiz Bowl, combining it with a kid-friendly Sip & Paint session. Participants engaged in trivia unleashed their creativity on canvases and enjoyed delicious food throughout the afternoon. The celebration embraced the spirit of community, welcoming everyone to join in the festivities.

Highlighting Local Businesses and Civic Engagement

In addition to the engaging activities, the event aimed to highlight and support local Black-owned businesses and provide information on the importance of the March 5 primary election. They provided information about the election to ensure that everyone was well-informed and ready to exercise their right to vote. Overall, the event was a celebration of Black culture and achievements, as well as a call to action for civic participation.
